This episode was probably the first I can say I honestly didn't care for. Loved the scenes with Locke, Richard, and Juliette. But the Desmond part reeked of filler. There wasn't anything remarkable about Charlie's birth, unless you're a crazed Desmond/Penny/Charlie fangirl (which I'm not). They probably could have axed the small talk with Des/Penny and stuck with just the scene with Des/Widmore. I know sometimes they need filler, but I'd rather have it with the original cast.
Desmond is also starting to get on my nerves... I imagine the actor standing in front of his fridge with a crazed look screaming "We need more milk!". I miss the season 3 Desmond that would have some calm and thoughtful moments as well.
